2 min read

According to Itsekiri gist a Facebook page;
All is now set for the Olaja-ori of Ugborodo, Mr. Benson Dube to visit the Olu of Warri for the first time since he ran into exile after declaring Ugborodo as autonomous community from Warri kingdom and requested the Delta state government to recognize the community as a kingdom of it own.

Olaja-Ore of Ugborodo and Gbaramatu Monarch

Dube had also formed an alliance with the king of Gbaramatu to seek protection of Ugborodo against the Olu Lordship.

It took the intervention of the Olu with the use of combined military high power led by the Ologbotsere of Warri to chase Dube and his gangs away from the Community and returned normalcy to the community.

The Olu also accused the Delta state government as an accomplice to the act but the Delta state government swiftly denied working with Dube to create a kingdom in Ugborodo.

With improved peace gradually returning to the community, Dube has insisted on returning to the community but he was told by the community that he can’t return without the express permission of the Olu. A position Dube disagrees with.
But after consultation with his political friends in and outside the palace who has also waded in to appeal to the king on behalf of Dube, he has reluctantly accepted to visit the king.

Dube has accepted some of the conditions given by the king and has rejected others.

Among the conditions are

1: To apologise to Itsekiri for his rebellious action

2: To perform cleansing for the sacrilege he committed.

3: To sign an undertaken never to go against the palace.

Dube accept 1 & 2 but rejected no 3.
